Product Overview

The DST Compressor 8 Iron warm up club comprises all aspects of the DST patented technology. The scientifically curved shaft replicates the shape of a normal shaft under its maximum load during impact, the DST Compressor forces you into a position where your hands lead the club face through impact and control it until after the ball has been struck. The curved shaft combined with the DST Impact Line enables you to locate a set up position and practice returning the club to the same position through impact every time. The DST Compressor forces you to feel the same movements and sensations as the greatest ball strikers in history and develop a repeatable, reliable movement through impact. The DST Compressor forces you to locate, train and perfect the optimal impact position.

Technical Features

The sole of DST clubs have been designed to be wide and flat, so when a player sets up in a conventional address position and then pushes their hands forwards the sole of the club will orientate itself horizontally to the ground due to the designed forward hosel lean. In this position the club has been designed so that DST Impact Line (the groove which runs at an angle down the front of hosel) will point towards the players eyeline. In addition the DST Impact Line will also appear to be aligned with the leading groove on the club head. In this position the leading groove and the DST Impact Line appear to be a continuation of the same line from the players perspective, the player will have located a set up position where the club shaft and their leading arm will be aligned with the center of the club head arc (their lead shoulder). From this position the player should make their normal swing and return the club to the same hand position through impact.

High praise for the club however I would recommend that users look at the Bertie Cordle videos on the DST website to get a clear understanding of how the club can benefit the user. Regards Peter Fitzgerald

    Renewed confidence and Enthusiasm

Posted by Ian on 29th Jan 2022

Like many golfers, I have been pursuing a golf swing that can generate more distance, accuracy and reliability ... but more often than not the pursuit has left me feeling frustrated and dejected.   I am dubious of training products, and techniques, that claim to provide an “instant” fix, however the DST Compressor 8 iron is giving me renewed confidence and enthusiasm to continue the above pursuit.  It is finished to a high standard of quality, and in conjunction with the videos on YouTube, I am rebuilding my swing, overcoming flaws in my swing that had not been identified during lessons in the past.”

    Great product

I have used this club for the last few weeks on my home simulator. I was surprised how far ahead my hands really needed to be, but after a few sessions I am finding it making a big difference and I am finally a seeing a lower more penetrating shot shape!

    Finally an aid that works

Posted by Jonathan Newell on 19th Feb 2021

I am very tall and have always “cast” or released the club early in an attempt to hit the ball. I’m a decent golfer at times but inevitably of my timing isn’t good I hit a lot of wayward shots. This club within half an hour had me holding the lag longer And releasing later. It’s not perfect and hard to transition from the DST to normal clubs but the feel is there and my ball flight got better instantly. I’m in early days of using it and haven’t been able to get out and play a round yet but I’d recommend it to get the feeling of how the club is supposed to work through impact. Great aid, a bargain at that price

Been playing golf for over 10 years knowing what the impact position should look like but its the first time i have felt it. Had one practise session and played one round after, big difference. Took the 8 iron around to remind me the position, look forward to improving

    Great teaching tool

Posted by andrew beal on 11th May 2015

As per my review for the compressor wedge, but perhaps the 8 iron version creates even more impressive results due to less loft and a more pronounced squeeze on the ball. Amazing how well and how far a half swing can hit the ball with this club.
